Cloud Computing

Cloud computing refers to the delivery of computing services—including servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence—over the Internet (“the cloud”) to offer faster innovation, flexible resources, and economies of scale.

Users can access these services through a web browser or API, eliminating the need for expensive infrastructure and maintenance. With cloud computing, organizations can focus on their core businesses instead of managing IT resources.

There are three main types of cloud computing services:

  1. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): provides virtualized computing resources, such as virtual machines and storage, over the Internet.
  2. Platform as a Service (PaaS): provides a platform for developing, running, and managing applications and services without the complexity of building and maintaining the underlying infrastructure.
  3. Software as a Service (SaaS): provides access to software applications over the Internet, often on a subscription basis.

Popular cloud computing providers include Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
